Iran to produce apocalyptic short animation

Iran is to produce a short animation with apocalyptic tone.

Iran Documentary and Experimental Film Center is set to sponsor the production of a short animation with an apocalyptic subtext.

Iranian director of the animated film, Mohsen Rezapour, told the domestic media about the animation on Monday that creating the decor for his new work is still in process, adding, “The pre-production stage will take longer than usual as the animation will be shot using stop motion technology.”

The director of animations and web series such as ‘Jim & Mim’, ‘Animal’ also said that 70 percent of the pre-production is done, adding, “The new short animation will be ready” in the coming months of 2017.

Having an apocalyptic setting, the animation will have no point of reference in the real world, the director noted.

A rabbit is hunted by a wolf and it meets the other rabbit already wolfed down. These two start their life and the story unfolds from here, Rezapour also said on the storyline of the film.

The animation is aimed at adults as it features a bit of violence despite its fantasy characters, the director noted.

Based in the Iranian capital city of Tehran, the Documentary and Experimental Film Center is the main center for production, distribution and promotion of documentary, animated and experimental pictures in the Middle East.
